The short version

BPMDetector.online is a browser-based tool. When you analyze an audio file, the file is decoded and analyzed on your own device, inside your browser. Your audio is never uploaded to our servers, never stored, and never shared. We cannot see which files you analyze.

Audio files

All audio processing — decoding, beat/tempo detection, and key detection — runs locally using standard browser APIs (the Web Audio API). The file you select stays in your browser's memory only and disappears when you close or reload the page. No copy of your audio is transmitted to us or to any third party.

Information we collect

We keep collection to a minimum:

1. Analytics (if enabled) — We may use privacy-respecting, aggregate analytics to understand aggregate usage (for example, page views and country-level statistics). These tools do not build profiles of individual users.
2. Server logs — Our hosting provider (Cloudflare) may automatically log standard technical information such as IP address, request time, and browser user agent for security and abuse prevention, as described in Cloudflare's privacy policy.
3. Cookies and local storage — We may store a small preference (such as your dark/light theme choice) in your browser. No advertising or tracking cookies are set by us.

We do not sell personal data. We do not run advertising trackers.

Children's privacy

The service is a general-purpose utility and does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Your rights

Because we do not collect user-provided personal data or audio files, there is generally no personal data of yours in our possession. If you believe we hold any information about you, contact us and we will address it promptly.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes, we will update the date at the top of this page.
